In the heart of Boston, Holocaust Museum Boston is taking shape as an important new educational and cultural institution. Behind its architecture and public exhibits is the critical building infrastructure required to protect the facility and keep essential systems available during a loss of utility power.
John C. Digertt Inc. supplied an important part of that infrastructure: a TriplePoint Labs fuel oil pump set and control package serving the building's roof-mounted emergency generator and belly tank. The system is designed to keep the generator supplied with fuel during an emergency and throughout scheduled monthly run testing.

An emergency generator is only as dependable as the fuel system supporting it. The generator, belly tank, bulk storage tank, transfer pumps, controls, piping, containment, leak detection and alarm interfaces must operate as one coordinated system.
The pump set and controls form the active link between stored fuel and the generator. When fuel is required, the system must respond automatically, maintain the required operating level in the belly tank and provide clear status and alarm information to facility personnel. During routine testing, the same system must perform consistently so developing issues can be identified before an actual outage.
Fuel oil systems can look straightforward on a drawing, but every building presents its own engineering and installation challenges. On urban and mission-critical projects, the complete design may need to account for:
The correct equipment package must reflect the building's actual operating conditions. Applying a generic solution without considering the complete fuel path can create difficult startups, nuisance alarms, maintenance problems or unreliable generator operation.
For this project, the equipment package incorporates a TriplePoint Labs fuel oil pump set and controls. TriplePoint Labs manufactures pump sets for mission-critical fuel transfer applications with integrated automation and monitoring capabilities.
At John C. Digertt Inc., our focus extends beyond supplying individual components. We work with engineers, mechanical contractors, general contractors and facility teams to review how pumps, tanks, valves, piping, containment, leak detection, level monitoring, alarms and building automation interfaces operate together.
This systems-level approach helps resolve project-specific challenges early, reduces field coordination issues and supports a cleaner path from equipment selection through startup and long-term service.
It is especially meaningful to contribute to a project dedicated to preserving history and educating future generations. Holocaust Museum Boston is being developed as a place for remembrance, reflection and learning in the heart of the city.
John C. Digertt Inc. is proud to support this important facility with infrastructure designed for dependable operation when it is needed most.
